DomainGuru.com
Visit this site to buy the e-book The Insiders Guide to Domain Name
Speculation. Price is $37.00. This 150-page book covers among
other things how to analyze namespaces to locate valuable generic
domain names, calculate in advance the potential income from traffic-generating
names, choose the best domain registration service, acquire the
most outstanding names at knockdown prices. If you are interested
in having numerous domain names, they offer domain name management
services so you don't have to keep track of when your domain names
are expiring.
DomainsBot
Click here to get a list of domain names that are about to expire.
You can jump on a domain name before anyone else realizes it is available.
Buying one of these names gives you an opportunity to get a better name.
You can also buy the domain name and redirect visitor to your existing
site, thereby increasing traffic.
Daily Expired
Domains If you have a specific domain name in mind, but its not near
expiration, you can have the site monitored for you for three years
for only $69. If the name should become available, Daily Expired
Domains will automatically register the name on your behalf.
To get to this service, go to this site and click on SnapBack. You
can also visit this site for daily on-hold domain name lists. On-hold
means that the domain name has actually expired, but it is on hold pending
the end of a grace period.
Register.com This was the first
domain registration company. Prices listed on the site. Names
ending in .com are the cheapest $35/year. Names are automatically
renewed each year and charged to your credit card account or by electronic
draft from your checking account.
VeriSign
This was once Network Solutions. Bulk registering discounts,
transfer name service. While they are the largest registrar because
they had a legalized monopoly in the early days of the Internet,
they have also been the hardest one for me to work with. Their outdated
forms based system just can't measure up to the other options available.
Bulk Register.com
Great place to register multiple domain names. The more names
you register, the less expensive it is per name. They have a nice
control panel to manage your domains. In order to use their services,
you must pay a one time membership fee of $79, so if you are only
going to register a couple of domain names, this is not cost effective.
ICANN.org Internet Corporation for Assigned
Names and Numbers. Rules and regulations for Internet naming as
well as educational resources to help you understand what domain naming
is all about.
